OUR STORY
Our Mission, Our People, Our Services
The mission of the Western New York Artists Group is:
1. To stimulate the interest in and to promote people in the arts by the exhibition of their artwork;
2. To develop more knowledge and appreciation of visual artwork;
3. To encourage the formation and continuance of high quality arts programming;
4. To integrate, when appropriate, the arts into core curriculum;
5. To align, when appropriate, the arts with New York State Department of Education Learning Standards;
6. To present arts programs to the families and all other individuals of Western New York
and to use the arts as a learning tool;
7. To collaborate with other art organizations;
8. To serve the urban, suburban and rural communities in the eight Western New York Counties
(Allegany, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming); and
9. To provide professional development to foster artists, teachers and consumers of the visual arts.
A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, the mission of the Western New York Artists Group is to promote regional artists from the Western New York area. This includes emerging artists, as well as "established" artists. Through exhibitions and other events, we promote artists to the community as a whole, encouraging collaboration, networking, and art sales.
Our Board of Directors is made up of nine individuals from the community of artists and business people who have taken an active role in ensuring that the organization is run, and its events are executed, effectively.
The group's primary service is to offer exhibition opportunities to area artists. We offer education opportunities through lectures, demonstrations and workshops, for both the artist and the art collector.
The Western New York Artists Group
extends its sincere gratitude to the
following for their support.
